Why We Are In Love With Item Upgrading And You Should Too
World of Warcraft - Item Upgrading
The item upgrade lets players increase the gear rating of an item by up to 700 points and give it a bonus. Items can be upgraded if they are in your inventory and you bring them to the kiln.
Certain items are worth upgrading due to their unique stats. (For example, a perfectly broken point armor that is rolled can be used in melee PvP). Other items, like weapons don't really change after an upgrade and aren't worth the cost.
Weapons
Upgrades to weapons can boost their numerical stats, such as attack damage, crit chance, and PvE/PvP damage. Weapons also have a flat bonus that increases their damage per second. Many weapons also come with a fixed bonus that is activated when three or more identical weapons are equipped in a unit. This bonus may be more than the damage a weapon upgrade alone can cause.
The cost of upgrading a weapon is based on the quality of the weapon and its current level. For example, a +2 weapon will require two regular Smithing Stones to upgrade while an upgrade of +3 requires four. The number of stones required to upgrade the weapon will continue to increase until it is required to use a higher tier of Smithing Stones, at which the number will be reset to one.
The upgrade of weapons can also change their base stats. This is usually a positive factor, but it could also have negative effects. Upgrades can make items impossible to use, unless you are very lucky.
Items of armor can also be upgraded to increase their effectiveness. This can boost the defense base of a chest or helm, while belts and gloves will increase their required strength and agility. Armor has a rerolling feature for its Enhanced Defense percent. This means that it is able to reduce its value.
The upgrade template for a weapon displays the new stats that it will gain upon upgrading, along with their relative values. This means that a change from an 8 attack-damage sword to an 11 attack-damage sword will result in a weapon gaining an attack damage of 3. However the 3% does not mean that it will hit for 3 fewer times as it is an absolute statistic.
Rerolling a weapon is possible by pressing the green button within the item menu, using the arrows that circle. The item will be rerolled and alter its stats but not reset the weapon's levels, or connect it to an account's status.
Armor
A few tweaks to your armor can make a huge difference in your ability to endure. Certain sets offer massive increases in poison, curse, fire and magic resistance, which can make traversing tough areas a breeze. In general, the more defense you have for your character, the more health you will gain from each point. So, it's best to upgrade your armor.
You can upgrade your armor by visiting any of the Great Fairy Fountains. There are four in total, and each requires you to complete a special side-quest involving the Stable Trotters musical troupe. After you've completed the main side quest and have completed the fountain that corresponds you'll be able to talk to any Great Fairy to open up the armor upgrade menu.
The amount of materials needed to upgrade each piece of armor will differ. You'll require anything from three Red Chuchu jellies and 10 Rupees to upgrade your first armor piece, and between five Rubies or 10 Fire-Breath Lizalfos Horns to upgrade item the next one. For instance the Champion Leathers could be upgraded to +5 defense, which allows you to keep up with a good-sized group of adversaries in most cold climates and the Snowquill Headdress can be upgraded to +20 defense, providing you enough protection to withstand an entire raid with a few friends.
Note that armor can't be upgraded in the same manner as weapons, so you'll want to focus on upgrading it for physical power if you're a Warrior or Spell Power in the case of a Mage. It's also worth saving your armor upgrades to use for armor you'll wear at the end of the game, like the Ring of Lightning and Spectral Shield or the helmet you'll wear for the final boss battle as well as the Monter Parts merchant's mask.
You can also gain advantages to your armor by giving the jeweler in Gerudo Town 10 Twinkling Titanite. It is generally recommended to save these upgrades for the weapon that you'll use to beat the game. For instance the Longsword or Battleaxe. However, it's beneficial to have some upgrades to the chest armor and helmets to allow you to get around a few monsters.
Potions
Potions are liquids that when consumed by the player, provide a temporary effect for a short period of time. There are five kinds of potions, each with different effects and durations. Certain potions can be upgraded, increasing their effectiveness. In addition, the effects of some potions can be enhanced by adding glowstone dust or redstone to the potions.
Upgrades to potion require a certain amount XP. This can be earned by crafting them on a craft table, or by storing them in the Alchemist chest. However, the upgrade price changes depending on what type of potion you want to upgrade, and also on the item's Mark Level and Rarity.
To upgrade a potions simply right-click on it in your inventory. Then, select "Upgrade" from the menu. This will open an GUI which allows you to choose the potion that you want to upgrade and the amount of experience they'll give you when upgraded. You can upgrade potions in batches of up to five at a time, and their XP will be added to the total XP you have.
Once a potion is upgraded in quality, it will not deteriorate unless you use it again or break the bottle in the container it is kept. You can also change the name of the potion by clicking it in your inventory.
Version 1.7.2 brought a few changes to the way potions are used. Splash potions, for instance have now a duration of 0:08 instead of the 22.5 seconds that are displayed on the hover display of the item. The potion table can now be constructed using four Wood Planks and two Glass. This allows it to be used by players in Survival and Bedrock. Unlike the Java Edition, Bedrock edition potions can't be combined in cauldrons. The same applies to the use of a potion in an empty cauldron. This will draw out the potion, and refill the bottle.
Finally, there are simmering potions that are made with dragon breath and splash potions. Redstone is also added to potions that are lingering to increase their effect. The table of potion ingredients has been rearranged to appear more like the Java Edition. New potions are also added, for instance, the potion of leaping as well as decomposition.
Trinkets
A trinket is an ornament that is small and inexpensive or piece jewelry. It can also refer to an object or decoration that serves a function but is not particularly significant such as a trinket. In some traditions, trinkets are used to signify friendship or affection, especially between family members.
In addition to weapons, armor and potions, players can upgrade their trinkets. They can be upgraded by going to an upgrade items vendor and paying the appropriate amount in currency. Unlike other item upgrades trinkets are able to be exchanged at will without losing their status.
The upgrade vendors are located in major cities and the capital of each zone, as well as in some cases, dungeons. Upgrades for trinkets are bought with tokens, gold or fragments of rare trinkets.
Upgrades are a less expensive alternative to purchasing a new trinket. It is possible to upgrade players for less than 12 tokens. The new trinket will feature the same base ilvl of the older one, and come with an additional 1% upgrade bonus.
Once the old Trinkets are no longer useful, they can be upgraded. This allows players to increase their power and value over time. They can also be traded between players which makes them a popular alternative to gold.
In general players should upgrade their top-priority items first. This means that the most-important slot items for each class are upgraded first before their secondary gear and finally other pieces of equipment they won't replace anytime soon (such as rings or cloaks). When choosing which items to upgrade, players should also be aware of the preferred statistics of their class. If Haste and Crit are two of the most important stats for tank players then they should consider upgrading their chest, helm, and shoulders.
After they've become unusable, trinkets can be upgraded to a greater level. The upgraded trinket will give you an additional 1percent bonus. Re-upgrading will cause the trinket to be destroyed unless it is saved using a Black Lion Salvage Kit, or a salvage tool. This makes upgrading trinkets more expensive than other upgrades, yet is still cheaper than purchasing the new one.
