The 9 Things Your Parents Teach You About Item Upgrader
World of Warcraft Item Upgrades
Item upgrades are a way to increase the stats of an item. Depending on the upgrade type, it may boost an item's Mark Level or Rarity, and also boost other stats.
Each item has a track for upgrading it. Each upgrade increases the cost of the next one by a certain amount.
Item Level
When an item gets upgraded, its basic stats are increased in value. This value is the sum of the perks that are leveled up (attack magic attack and defense). Upgrades can be expensive, depending on who you hire and what you decide to do. This is due to the number of perks that must be modified to upgrade an item.
Item level is a widely used measure of power, and can be found on all item tooltips. It can also be used to determine a gating condition when queueing for dungeons, raids and scenarios, and to limit the amount of PvP gear players can wear (since PvP is limited to a lower level). The average item level is listed on the character sheet.
Utilizing the level of an item can help players compare the strength of equipment when deciding to purchase or sell. It's an excellent indicator of an item's quality and how much damage it's capable of dealing with. The level of the item can be used to evaluate items when evaluating the inventory of a vendor.
The level of the item can be viewed by pressing the ALT key on a PC or using the left stick (L3) on XB1 and PS4. This will display the item's full description, including the ilvl. You can also find it by hovering over an item and typing /itemlevel into chat.
There are many theories about the method by which the level of an item is calculated. One theory says that the level of an item is determined by an equation that determines how valuable the stats of an item really are. It is based on the fact that different perks are valued differently, and that gems in the sockets boost the value of the item. This could result in an item's ilvl calculated, which is usually very close to Blizzard's actual level of the item.
However, this is not the only factor which affects an item's ilvl, as the level of the region the item dropped in can alter the value of its stats, for example by adding an amount to its crit rating or haste rating. This means that items that drop at higher levels will have higher value than items dropped in lower-level instances.
Item Stats
The item's stats can determine the fate of an item for players. The game uses a lot of them in various ways to encourage players to play with multiple weapons, and also to stop one weapon from being "the best." The stat mods on an weapon increase the base stats. These stat mods are then increased by a player's level.
Upgrades to the item upgrader kit add by increasing certain stats of the item. The rarity of an item determines its upgrade cost. A grey or white item, for example, will only be upgraded once however, items with rare tiers may be upgraded multiple times with higher prices.
Another method to alter the stats on an item upgrader kit is by affixing it. These are special stat boosts that can be added to an item by the player and are available in all shapes and sizes. The affixes can be used to provide items with extra damage or special abilities (such as revitalizing dead or reducing cooling downs), or to distinguish them by naming them.
All affixes can be re-rolled at the moment by selecting them in the upgrade menu and pressing the green button. It will cost a set amount in gold and other items. They can also be used as upgrade gauges, as with other rerolling methods.
In addition to rerolling affixes, players can also choose which of the available stats to keep on an item when it is upgraded. The possible ranges of stats for an item are determined by the item level, but every item is guaranteed to have at least 1 stat within that range, unless it is an item that is unique or a God roll from a raid boss.
Another thing that can be modified by adding the option to upgrade item the equipment without having to reroll the affixes or deciding which stats to enhance. As with the base equipment, it must be done per item and the item comparison interface wouldn't display all possible stats at once.
Item Luck
The Luck stat for a player adds up to increase the odds of item discoveries, the properties spawned on loot drops and the strength of these properties. However, it doesn't directly impact damage or the ability to upgrade items. It gives players the chance to upgrade item their gear earlier in the game. This is particularly beneficial for early game runs, since players tend to prioritize defenses and weapon scaling over raw damage gains.
Luck can also boost the chances of upgrading items at the Blacksmith. This is not to be confused with the Blacksmith's overall chance of upgrading that increases with each level and can be further enhanced by using an anti-material, such as a Scroll of Strength or a Jewel of Blessing.
Weapons, shields, and armor can be made or spawn using the Luck property, with a default value of 40. These items can be augmented with golden ingots or spined leather (depending on the type of material) to add another 40 luck, or to increase an item's existing Luck up to 140.
Certain items, like the weapon with Hollow-infused components, can also be equipped to increase the damage dealt by any ability that causes damage by 5%. These items are available in the shop or crafted using the right ingredients.
Item Failure
Item upgrades are expensive and not every upgrade will be successful. Cash shop items can be used to increase the success rate of an upgrade, or to protect players from losing their item upgrading if it does not work.
When you upgrade an item, the rate of success is displayed in the Honing UI. The percentage represents the chance of successfully upgrading that item and can be enhanced by adding Additional Materials or Special Materials. There are limitations to the extent to which the success rates can be improved and the probability of an upgrade failing can't exceed 100%.
The success of an can be affected by the Luck of that item. Each item has an initial success rate of 25% and every item that has Luck increases the chance of success by an additional 5percent.
The upgrade overlays for items are displayed above items in the inventory. This could obscure enchantment effects and other effects. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
