Boosts
With an item upgrade upgrader you will be able to enjoy numerous bonuses. These can include a variety of stats, as well as numerous bonuses. These bonuses can be utilized on armor, weapons, and trinkets. They can be used to boost the capabilities of the character, or can add an additional aspect of variety to the build.
The upgrade system in World of Warcraft allows players to increase the level of their equipment by spending money at an upgrader for items NPC. The system was first introduced in Mists of Pandaria, and continued with Warlords of Draenor. It's a simple method to boost the level of your equipment, letting you skip the tedious grind and avoid the countless wipes in Mythic+ Dungeons.
When an item is upgraded the type of item it is upgraded to. Upgrades to a normal item create an Exceptional version, while upgrades to an Exceptional model create an Elite. The item will keep its pre-upgrade stats, and will receive an additional bonus of its new base type. This bonus is randomly chosen. It could be a weapon that has an increased damage range, an improved reloading speed, or an increased max defense roll.
The amount of upgrades you make will determine the amount of extras you receive. Each upgrade will increase the number of extras by three points maximum. Additionally, each upgrade will also boost the main stat by 1.
Some upgrades also provide a secondary random boost in addition to stat increases. These boosts can be quite valuable and should be considered when deciding what items to upgrade. Some of these boosts are beneficial in certain builds (such Whistan's shield, for FB sorcs) while others can provide a great deal of value to specific collectors.
Some items have a built-in boos, which is less useful when upgraded. For instance the Goldwrap offers an additional slots for potion. They are usually upgraded to increase the value of an item that is perfect or close to being perfect.
Costs
There are a few costs associated with item upgrades. The first cost is the upgrade itself. This cost can be expensive and is contingent on the new level of the item as well as the number of perks it gets. Upgrades to higher levels (such as Explorer to Champion or Veteran to Heroic) can be expensive.
The second is the price of the materials required for an upgrade. These items are typically Power Dices (dropped from monsters 21+), Minerals and Erons, or specific Mists Of Pandaria or Warlords of Draenor Quests. These materials are available in the inventory of an upgrade vendor.
It takes time to upgrade an item. Depending on the size of the upgrade, it could take up to 8 hours. The upgraded item's base stats are calculated using the new ilvl of the item bonuses, perks, and other properties. This calculation determines the updated Armor Class bonus, damage dice, and other important statistics. In some instances an upgrade may grant additional benefits. These perks are available in a list.
Rarely, the new benefits gained will cost more than one perk slot to acquire; in these situations, the upgrade will only replace the perks with the highest cost. Sometimes, the upgrader will make other adjustments to an item, such as changing the damage type of a weapon or removing or adding an unwieldy or operational property. The cost for these changes is based on the item's new ilvl, and it could require a special substance like adamantine alloy.
Success Rate
Item upgrades are based on an opportunity, and like any random system there is an opportunity that the upgrade won't succeed. There are a few methods to increase your odds of success. This includes the use of an Upgrade Pity or the addition extra materials to your upgrade.
An Upgrade Pity is an item you can buy from the smithing NPC in Lost Ark. It increases the chance of an upgrade's success by some percentage. This is similar to the luck bonus certain items offer, but is more stable. It can be added to any armor or weapon and can be used up to three times.
It is also possible to add a number of additional materials to the upgrade, which increases its chance of success. These are shown in a window above the + button. There are some limitations. The maximum amount of material you can upload is shown directly above the + button.
A Blacksmith Blessing, or an upgraded version thereof can be used to increase the chances of an upgrade succeeding. This item is useful if your weapon or piece is near or has reached the highest level of its tier. This item lets you upgrade the equipment to the next level without the risk of breaking.
If an upgrade is unsuccessful, it will be reverted to its previous state. This is typically an error, but it could also be a downgrade. Keep an upgrade in reserve until you are nearing the highest level for an item.
There are a variety of items available in the Kafra shop that can be used to increase the likelihood of a successful upgrade. You can increase the chances of success by enhancing your equipment several times using HD Oridecon and HD Elunium. Similarly, enhancing the chance to receive a Double Mint from Shoe-Minting a maximum of five times will increase the chance of success.
Failure Rate
The upgrader of an item allows the player to add an additional slot in their equipment. These slots can be used to apply an enhancement or enchantment on an item. It is important to keep in mind that not all items can be upgraded. The rate of upgrade and enchantment is based on the item's rank. The higher the rank, the more Zen and items you'll require to upgrade it.
