World of Warcraft Item Upgrades

Upgrades to items are a method to increase the stats of an item. Depending on the type of upgrade you choose, it can increase an item's Rarity or Mark Level and increase other stats.

Upgrades to equipment in The War Within requires a specified number of Flightstones and Crests Each item comes with an upgrade track. Each upgrade increases the price of the next item by a certain amount.

Item Level

When an item gets upgraded, its base stats are increased in value. The value is the sum of all its upgraded perks (attack, magic attack and defense). Upgrades to items can be costly, depending on the upgrader you choose and the kind of upgrade you decide to do. This is due to the sheer number of perks that have to be modified to upgrade an item.

It can also be used as a gating requirement while queueing for raids, dungeons and scenarios. It also serves as a gating requirement while queueing for dungeons, raids and scenarios, and to limit the amount of PvP gear a player can wear (since PvP is capped at a lower level). The average level of an item is listed on the character sheet.

When deciding to purchase or sell equipment players can look at the level of an item upgrading. It's a good indicator of the quality of an item and the amount of damage it will be capable of dealing with. The level of an item can be used to compare items when looking at the inventory of a seller.

The item level can be checked by pressing the ALT key on PC or using the left stick (L3) on XB1 and PS4. This will display the complete description of the item, as well as its value. You can also locate it by hovering over an Best item upgrade and typing /itemlevel in chat.

There are many theories about how the level of an item is determined. One theory suggests that the level of an item is calculated using formulas that determine the value of the stats of an item really are. It considers that different advantages are valued differently and that gems in sockets increase the item's value. This can result in a calculated value for the item's ilvl which is usually close to Blizzard's actual level of the item.

However, this is not the only factor which can affect an item's ilvl since the level of the area the item dropped in can alter the value of its stats, for instance by adding an additional level to its crit rating or haste rating. Items that drop in higher-level instances will have higher ilvl.

Item Stats

The item's stats can be the difference between a good or bad item upgrader for players. The game uses them in a variety of ways to encourage players to not limit themselves to a single weapon and to encourage players to experiment with other weapons. The base stats on a weapon are enhanced by the weapon's stat modifications, which are themselves enhanced by the player's level.

The upgrades to items add by boosting certain stats on the item. The rarity of an item determines its upgrade cost. A grey or white item for instance, can only be upgraded one time, while an item with rare tiers may be upgraded multiple times with higher costs.

Affixes can also be used to change an item's stats. These are special stat boosts that can be added to an item by the player and are available in all sizes and shapes. Affixes are used to give items additional damage, special abilities (such as revitalizing dead or reducing cooling downs), or to distinguish them by putting a name on them.

All affixes can be being re-rolled right now by selecting them in the upgrade menu pressing the green button. This will cost a certain amount in gold and items. These can be used as upgrade gauges, as with other rerolling methods.

In addition to Rerolling affixes and rerolls, players can select which of the available stats to keep on an item when it is upgraded. The possible ranges of stats for an item are determined by the level of the item, however every item is guaranteed to have at least one stat within the range, unless it is a unique item or a God roll from a boss in a raid.

Another thing that could change is the option to upgrade equipment without having to reroll attachments, or pick which stats to increase. But as with base equipment, this would need to be performed on a per-item basis, and the item compare interface will not show all the stats that could be either lost or gained at the same time.

Item Luck

The Luck stat for a player adds up to increase the odds of finding items as well as the properties that appear on loot drops and the strength of the properties. It doesn't, however directly impact damage or the ability to upgrade items. It simply gives the player a chance to acquire better gear in earlier waves and is thus more valuable in early game runs as opposed to later ones, since most players prefer greater weapon scaling and defense over damage gains.

Luck can also boost the chances of upgrading items at the Blacksmith. This is not to be confused with the Blacksmith’s overall chances of upgrading that increase with each Best item upgrade level. They can also be increased by using anti-materials, such as the Scroll of Strength and a Jewel of Blessing.

The shields, armor, and weapons have a default Luck value of 40. These items can then be enhanced with golden ingots, spined leather or oak boards (depending on the item's material type) to grant a further +40 Luck, or to increase the luck of an item, up to 140.

Certain items, like the Hollow-infused weapon can also be crafted to increase the damage dealt by any ability that is able to deal damage by five percent. These items can be bought from the shop, or they can be crafted using the right ingredients.

Item Failure

Upgrades to items can be expensive and not all upgrades will succeed. Cash shop items can be used to boost the success rate of an upgrade or to prevent players from losing their item in the event that it does not work.

The rate of success of an upgrade is displayed in the Honing UI. The percentage is the chances of successfully upgrading that item and can be increased by adding Additional Materials or Special Materials. The probability of success can only be increased by so high, and the probability that the upgrade will fail cannot exceed 100%..

The luck of an item can affect the success of an upgrade. Each item has an average success rate of 25 percent and every item with Luck increases the chance of success by 5%.

The upgrade overlays of the item are rendered above items in the inventory. This could cause obscurity to enchantment effects or other effects. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
