Path of Exile Item Upgrading

Item upgrading allows players to enhance their weapons and gear with new affixes, increasing its stats base or giving additional benefits. To upgrade items, players must have the item in their inventory, and also access the kiln.

Typically objects with weak bases (like rings) can be upgraded to a stronger base while items with strong bases such as Eth titans don't change much in their stats after being upgraded.

Upgrade components

Upgrade components can be used to upgrade trinkets, weapons, armor and tools for gathering, offering an attribute bonus or additional effect while the equipment is being used. They can be purchased from vendors, retrieved as loot gathered by enemies or obtained from missions and chests. Certain upgrades also have cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require the equipment to be at a certain level before they are upgraded.

To upgrade an item level upgrade of armor, the player must choose it and click the Upgrade button on the toolbar. The screen will show on the right-hand side of the screen a preview of the expected upgrade stats and the necessary component or materials.

There are three kinds that are universal upgrades (which include gems) Prefix upgrades and suffix upgrade components. Universal upgrades, which comprise gems, can be put in any kind of equipment, and offer lower bonuses than upgrade components that are restricted to a specific type. Infusions are only placed in ascended gear and legendary equipment are similar to jewels but have higher bonuses and are not able to be placed in any other type of equipment. Suffix upgrades can be added to gathering tools. They add a suffix at the end of item names. For example, adding a Glyph would make a staff wrapping of Minor Vigor a Canthan staff wrapping of Minor Vigor.

In the case of upgrades for gathering tools when a player swaps one glyph with a different one the old glyph will be returned to the inventory. However replacing any other upgrade component will destroy it, with the exception of inscriptions which can be freely swapped.

Leveling

Path of Exile's upgrade process is different from the previous versions in a few key ways. Gear is now categorized in tracks, and each item is able to be upgraded so many times before it's "leveled out." The costs for upgrading increase with each level, but the materials required for upgrades do not. This allows players to concentrate their efforts on a specific few items and maximize the impact of these items, rather than spreading the cost of upgrades across several pieces.

Once an item has been completed and is leveled out, it will be capable of receiving an upgrade set of components, and an increase in the probability that the upgrade will succeed. This bonus is known as the Artisan's Power and it will reset to zero on failure or increases when the upgrade succeeds.

When a piece of equipment is upgraded to its highest level it is able to receive affixes that will boost its attributes. The number of affixes that are available will depend on the item's type. For example an uncommon or unique weapon with a base that is standard will only have two affixes. A legend armor will have eight affixes.

Each upgrade step requires a certain number of Flightstones or Crests, based on whether the item is at its current level and what slot it is in. Weapons typically require more Flightstones than other equipment.

If an item upgrades is not able to get to its maximum level the NPC will offer the player the option of transfer it to a different character and then re-infuse it with a different set of upgrades. This procedure can take as long as two hours and will cost the same amount of materials. However it has a lower success rate.

To determine the height of a building engineers employ an instrument to compare the measurement against an established reference point such as a benchmark or the elevation of the ground. This process is known as a "level-loop." It involves taking readings using the backsight rod and level, then turning the level and taking the foresight rod reading. This method guarantees that the buildings are constructed with the highest degree of precision and safety.

Rerolling

Rerolling is the process of changing the upgrade components of an item. It is a vital aspect of the game and can dramatically enhance an item's strength and damage as well as other attributes. This can be accomplished through the menu for items or by pressing the Reroll button of an upgraded item. Rerolling items can be expensive and should be used sparingly.

Reroll tokens are derived by recycling upgraded items. These tokens can be used to upgrade the original item or a similar item. Recyclable items come with an indicator that indicates the amount of upgrade. The rarity and the cost of upgrading an item will determine the amount of level that has been filled.

In the past, some upgrade items had priority affixes which made them easier to roll for than others. This meant that you'd receive the most crucial stats for your build more frequently than other items. This included stats like the armor's total armour, thorns and diminished duration due to control or the weapons' bonus attack speed and crit strike chance.

This has changed since the most recent patch. Priority affixes were removed and all upgrades have the same chance of rolling each stat. This can be good or bad, depending on what you're looking to get from your equipment.

Each upgraded item upgrading can come with a bonus that increases the item's power by a set percentage or a flat amount. These bonuses are added into the usual affixes. The more you improve an item, the greater chances of obtaining a unique bonus.

The game also has a number sets that give the player a bonus if three or four upgraded items from the set are installed on a unit. This is a great method of giving a character a lot more power without spending a lot of money.

Many players have the habit of rerolling their weapons and gear particularly in the beginning stages. Rerolling is a method to gain a stronger character faster, which allows you to advance in the game and reach higher levels.

Sets

Sets are collections of elements that can be arranged in a variety of ways. They can be different sizes, have no elements, or only contain a single element. They can be used for organizing data or separating information. They can also be used for analyzing patterns. Sets can be classified in several ways, including by size and shape.

The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom provides an extensive selection of set items that can be upgraded. Certain items are worth upgrading, while others aren't. Sets of armor that offer high defense values or set bonuses are generally worth upgrading. Upgrades to weapons aren't as effective in boosting stats as their purple counterparts. This makes them less attractive to upgrade if you own lots of armor pieces or weapons.

Certain set items are upgraded to take advantage of their own unique functions, which can be particularly useful in certain builds. This is evident in Aldur's Advance Boots and Guillaume's Face. Both were upgraded from Exceptional Winged Helm and Exceptional Mirrored Boots respectively, boosting their defense by 217 to 321 (Strength requirement and Level requirement was increased as well).

Another reason to upgrade certain items is to bring them up to the same level as their counterparts in their tiers. The Immortal King Set, for instance, is a huge range of levels ranging from 29 to 75. The upgrade of lower-level items in the set can boost their defense and make them more competitive in terms of damage.

To determine if an item is worth upgrading, players must click the Upgrade button on the screen for their character. The attributes of the item will be displayed together with any required items. To upgrade the No-mouth face for instance, 1.1K Scrap Materials will be required, along with 250 Enchanted Dust and 5 Glowing Shards. Players can also verify the upgrade requirements for specific items at the Cyrodiil Golden vendor or Leaderboard.

In general, armor and weapons have a higher trade value when they are fully updated. Upgrades to gold are recommended for weapons with spell/weapon-damage glyphs. This will result in a significant improvement in their stats. This will also increase the defense value of armor that has an updated look.
